Description
John Murphy graduated from Notre Dame in 1965 with a degree in Electrical Engineering and subsequently went to work for IBM, Motorola, American Air Lines, Telex and Singer Business Systems. He joined Datapoint in 1976 and became a part of their research department. He was the lead development engineer on the ARCNET project, which was the first commercial networking system. He was also involved in many Datapoint hardware and software projects. In 1985, he joined with others, to found Performance Technology a company that provided enhanced capabilities for Datapoint customers. His most recent company is PerfTech, which he joined in 2001. PerfTech provides services to ISP companies.
