Hackworth, Mike (Michael) oral history
This oral history covers Mike Hackworth’s early life plus his entire career in semiconductors. He grew up in Silicon Valley and his whole career was centered there. He started working part time for components supplier Altronics while still in high school. He eventually went on to hold senior marketing and sales positions at Motorola, Fairchild, and Signetics. The final stop on his illustrious career was as CEO of the startup, Cirrus Logic, which he took on in 1985. Mike stepped down from the CEO position in 1999 but remained as its chairman. In addition he served on the boards of a number of public and private companies as well as a couple of non-profit organizations.
