Description

Recording of Terry Potter's presentation titled "Digital storing/retrieving data in a parallel distributed memory from neuor-computing to data-parallel machines."

From the official program:
"Computing systems have always been good in dealing with previce, quantitative information and processes. They have been noticeabley poor at dealing with imprecise or vague information. With the continuing increases in available primary/secondary storage, demands grow to retrieve data using inexact or noisy inputs. Application areas such as Optical Character Recognition, VOice/Image Recognition, and even Module Diagnosis are just few domains where such in-exact or noisy inputs are dominat. This talk will give an overview of ne computing architectures which are being developed to address this class of problems. More specifically, the talk will show how Neuro-COmputers and Data-Parallel Machines can be used to solve problems considered much more difficult using traditional computer architectures."
