Biographical Notes

Choong-Ki Kim received a B.S. from Seoul National University, Korea (1965) an M.S.E.E. (1967) and a Ph.D. (1970) in electrical engineering from Columbia University. He joined Fairchild R&D as a member of the research staff and a section head in 1970 where he worked on CCD device development under Gil Amelio. In1975 he became a professor of electrical engineering and computer science department at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, or KAIST, and served as its vice president from 1995 to 1998. He has been an independent director at Pixel Plus Co. Ltd and Board Member at the Centre for Electro Optics.
