The object is part of the IBM 705 system donated by Paul Pierce. There is a plastic plaque on the front right upright panel of the card reader, which reads "IBM EDPM 714 Card Reader." The plaque is composed primarily of clear acrylic and slides into an aluminum bracket. Below that is a row of 10 command buttons. Three buttons "Select", "ready", and "feed check" have been inserted upside down. Cards are inserted/exit from the right front corner of the machine. The top panel is vented as is the bottom rear panel. The left panel has a piece of masking tape attached which reads "Pugit Sound Computers."
