Description

Object is a cabinet containing a large motherboard with many small circuit modules. On the front lower center is a large control panel with, on the left, a panel of operator controls with toggle switches for "start," "stop," "load," etc and a master key switch. The bulk of the panel is two sets of readouts for memory and address (the LINC 8 has two CPUs) and a long row of flip toggles. Other LINC-8 machines have a tape drive upper left, but that is missing from this machine, although there is a switch labeled TAPE UNIT 0. Inside the cabinet was a small plastic panel that was evidently once mounted to the top left, a fan on a Plexiglas sheet, and a bag containing a number of circuit modules.

Taped to the front is a piece of paper with a table handwritten in two columns. The left column is headed "BIN WIDTH (usec)" and the numbers are 10, 20, 40, 80, 160, 320, 640, 1280, 2560, 5120, 10240, and 20480. The right column is headed "ANALYSIS TIME ON SCREEN (400) (msec)" and the numbers are 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048, 4096, and 8192.
