Cindy Mason attended Perdue University, majoring in Computer. After graduation, Mason worked at Lawrence Livermore National Labs in the computer center supporting experiments in magnetic fusion. After relocating to the Northern Territory of Australia, Mason founded the first computing center in the outback at a local community college.
