Description
The first session of day 2 of the Desktop Publishing Pioneer Meeting focuses primarily on the Seybold Report and Seybold Seminars and trade shows. Jonathan Seybold gives background information on the organization and its founders, explaining their vision for the up-and-coming desktop publishing industry. He then explains when and why the Seybold publications took shape. The session participants also describe their exposure to the publications during the 1980s. The discussion then turns to the growth of the Seybold seminars, their attendees and how they served the industry, as well as when and why Seybold industry trade shows were developed and their role during this period. Lastly, the session participants discuss their experiences at the Seybold Seminars and trade shows and explain their importance to the growing desktop publishing field.
