Description
Session 9 of the Desktop Publishing Pioneer Meeting explores how desktop publishing technological advances and the digital revolution have impacted file sharing, graphic design, and the publishing industry. The meeting participants round out their two days of discussion on the history of desktop publishing by speculating on the future of digital media and mass communication. Topics include where the industry is headed and the effects that is having and will have on our society. In particular, they discuss the dramatic impact desktop publishing has had on the publishing and graphic design industries: who is able to participate in creative work, what is produced, how it is distributed, and when and where it is viewed.
