Kobayashi, Bujirou oral history

[This oral history is one of seven recorded in December 2014 with former leaders in the Japanese semiconductor industry.] Kobayashi-san was born in 1924 and graduated from what is now Yamaguchi University in 1944 with a degree in mechanical engineering.. He then joined Mitsubishi Electric Corp. After a number of production management and quality control positions, he was appointed by S. Shindo, President of Mitsubishi to take responsibility for the Kita-Itami Works and to improve the technology and quality of Mitsubishi’s semiconductor products. He was subsequently responsible for the conception and construction of a fully automated semiconductor manufacturing plant in Saijo, Japan in the 1980’s.
