Description
This handheld console, as well as Elektronika’s entire IM 02 line of handhelds, were knockoffs of Nintendo’s Game & Watch systems that had first appeared in 1982. While the Japanese version – Eggs – featured Mickey Mouse catching eggs, this version featured a depraved wolf, the main character from the hugely popular Soviet cartoon Nu, Pogodi!. In terms of celebrity, the wolf was the Russian equivalent of Mickey Mouse, and this game was one of the first successful TV-based computer merchandising efforts in Russia. The wolf’s nemesis, a do-good bunny, also makes a cameo in the game. Controls for the game consist of four buttons, each of which allows the wolf to catch the eggs from four different henhouses.
