The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) oral histories collection contains thirty-six transcripts of applied mathematics and computer science pioneers conducted by SIAM as part of grant number DE-FG02-01ER25547, awarded by the US Department of Energy. These oral histories cover the modern history of numerical analysis and scientific computing, dealing specifically with topics of numerical linear algebra, numerical methods for differential and integral equations, methods of approximation of functions, mathematical software packages, and the impact of these developments on science and technology.
