Description
The HP Journal April 1977 says,"The first integrated circuit to be fabricated using HP's silicon-on-sapphire (SOS) technology is called MC2, for Micro-CPU Chip, a 16-bit central processing unit built with complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) logic." The object is in a 48-pin dual in-line ceramic package. Production versions were normally in a square package.
