Press release announcing appointment of Eric B. Kim, 34, to vice president and general manager of the company's Database Products Division. Kim spent the prior three and a half years in a number of marketing and management positions in the database area. Just prior to his appointment to the vice president post, he was business unit manager, database products, where he oversaw Ashton-Tate's database-oriented projects, including dBASE IV and the AshtonTate/Microsoft SQL Server. Now he continues to oversee development, test, documentation, and product management for these and future projects undertaken by the new Database Products Division, as well as plot the ongoing strategic direction of Ashton-Tate's database activities.
