Advanced technology : MOS-LSI general purpose computers : the adapt series
Garrett Corporation, AiResearch Manufacturing Company
Marketing materials for the ADAPT Series of MOS-LSI general purpose computers producted by the Garrett Corporation's AiResearch Manufacturing Company division. Designed as a small, lightweight, minimum power, low cost system using a bit-slice building block concept with the basic building blocks consisting of six different metal oxide semiconductor large scale integrated (MOS-LSI) devices, the ADAPT Series was first developed for the air inlet control system for the Grumman F-14A aircraft. Derivatives of the initial configuration, the ADAPT 144 and the ADAPT 244, were designed as the beginning of a family of general purpose computers. The brochure contains photos and diagrams of hardware configurations and describes characteristics, interfaces, software and instruction repetoires.
