He recounts early work at Hewlett-Packard and other firms before creating Quark Incorporated to pursue various lines in personal computer software. Gill details his creation of the QuarkXPress desktop publishing program, and the subsequent development of both the program and the firm. He details his work with Fred Ebrahimi and others to develop Quark Inc. in the US and beyond, and his and the firm’s interactions with Apple, Aldus, Adobe, and other firms and their technologies.
