Description
Peggy Burke is the founder and CEO of 1185 Design, a Palo-Alto-based branding agency. Founded in 1985, 1185 worked with companies like Motorola, Cisco and Sun Microsystems to visually convey the essence and value of semiconductors, routers and servers to the world. The result was a new visual language: the logo 1185 created for Cisco was the first iconic symbol for a router. In the 1990s, 1185 became the go-to agency for the Internet startups of the dot-com boom as well as established companies just beginning to embrace digital tools. More recently, the agency has helped shape the stories behind its designs, working with companies like Flex (formerly Flextronics) to revamp strategy in conjunction with branding. For over 30 years, Peggy has led 1185 to create some of the most significant and enduring brands in Silicon Valley and beyond.
