The Macintosh Buyer's Guide was published by Redgate Publishing Company. Ted Leonsis, head of Redgate, serving as editor and partnering with Steve Jobs, published the first edition in the winter 1984 outlining every third-party software, hardware and accessory product compatible with the Macintosh computer. Steve Jobs reportedly bought the first 1 million copies to be shipped with Macintoshes. Inventory is limited to two editions: Fall 1985 and Spring 1986.
