Description
The PDP-11 IAS System Management Guide (DEC-11-OISGA-B-D, IAS version 1.1) described how the IAS (Interactive Applications System) multifunction operating system facilities designed for the PDP-11/70 and PDP-11/45 machines could be used to suit specific local requirements. In conjuction with the IAS System Generation guide (catalog number 102785010) it also described how the system was established and dynamically controlled. Operation of the IAS system was governed by Command Language Interpreter (CLI) tasks that interfaced with the human users translating their requests into requests to the IAS system. IAS supplied two standard CLIs: the System Control Interface (SCI) and the Program Development System (PDS).
