Description
The following is a description of the program by the donor: PINUP was a utility to enhance routability for gate arrays. Many components had single pins that needed to be routed on their nets for routing completion. However, the routers did one net at a time and would often route a net over a pin that needed to be connected to a different net. PINUP analyzed all single pin nets before any routing was done and placed vias on these up to the routing layer. This would preclude the routers blocking these nets with others.
