Description

The object is a player piano roll titled, "Latest Ragtime Hits No. 4". The description of the hits is as follows: "Introducing (1) How Do You Do Miss Ragtime; (2) Hungarian Rag; (3) Pastime Rag; (4) Crazy Bone Rag." The arrangement of the songs is by Ellis Linder. Above the manufacturer's sticker, the following is stamped in blue, "This roll is guaranteed to fit any standard 88 note player; to be free from imperfections of material or workmanship; and to be an accurate copy of the score from which it was arranged. The adjustable tracking flange on this roll insures perfect tracking. TO OPERATE: With paper LOOSE on core hold clutch flange in palm of hand, with roll upright; lift tracking flange and strike down sharply. Tighten paper moderately, ALWAYS REPLACE RUBBER BAND AFTER USING."
There is a metal pull-tab at the end of the roll, which loops through a black faux leather end cap. The ends of the roll are capped with black plastic end caps, which read, "PAT APPLIED FOR."
