Every organization's success depends on the ability to scale up further, faster, and more effectively as it creates a larger footprint. Bob Sutton and Huggy Rao have devoted much of the last decade to uncovering what it takes to advance exemplary performance, and to keep recharging organizations with better work practices that support effective scaling. They recently co-authored, "Scaling up Excellence Getting to More Without Settling for Less," published February 4, 2014. Sutton and Rao are joined in conversation by Greylock partner and accomplished scaling expert John Lilly. This discussion focused on how the best leaders and teams in places ranging from Google to the Girl Scouts tackle key scaling challenges—such as adding necessary processes and structures without undermining speed and innovation, and traveling the path "from bad to great."
