Description

“With the end of Moore’s Law, new semiconductors are required for a cloud-native, data-dominated, AI-powered, IoT world. The rise of these new players will put Silicon back into Silicon Valley.” Presented in May 2019 by Navin Chaddha of Mayfield to a Churchill Club audience of 400 industry leaders, this statement was voted the top trend in technology and business that will see explosive growth within the next five years.

Emerging products and services that will rely on new special-purpose chips include autonomous driving, 5G, cryptocurrency, medical imaging, and much more. Both customized and general-purpose solutions are being developed by large semiconductor companies as well as behemoths such as Google, Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft and others. There is also an entrepreneurial play underway, with new startups entering the race. On July 17 we heard from the CEOs of Micron, Xilinx, and ARM on this topic. Part II will explore entrepreneurial efforts and opportunities in the space. Join this insightful and exciting discussion with Navin Chaddha of Mayfield; John Hennessy, founder of MIPS, President Emeritus of Stanford and chairman of Alphabet; Rodrigo Liang, cofounder and CEO of SambaNova Systems; and Pradeep Sindhu, founder of Juniper Networks and co-founder and CEO of Fungible; led in conversation by former Intel and Google Cloud senior executive Diane Bryant.
