Voice-over packet telephone

<p>The object is a voice-over packet telephone made by MIT Linclon Laboratory and signed by Dr. John Makhoul of Bolt, Beranek, and Neuman (BBN) makers of the Internet Message Processor (IMP) used with the early ARPANET and with which this object was used. The front panel contains indicators for +5, -5, +12, -12, A/D OVERFLOW, SYNC, XMIT, RCV. There is an ON/OFF switch and an A.C&gt; indicator, a RESET button, and a connector for the telephone handset. There is a 3/16" x 2" window labeled INPUT.</p>
