Bruce Peterson describes his long career in data processing starting as an operator of punched card equipment through becoming a programmer and then a data processing manager. He describes how he faced and solved some major challenges as a manager at Hughes Aircraft as the volume of data being processed began to overwhelm the capacity of their computer system.
