Chris Garcia


Chris Garcia joined the Computer History Museum in 1999. As Curator, Chris provides information on artifacts, develops content for exhibits, assists in donation review, gives talks, tours and writes articles for CORE - the official publication of the Museum.

Born and raised in Santa Clara, California, Chris' first job out of high school was at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American Art as a Curatorial Assistant. Chris followed up his time at the Smithsonian by getting his BFA in Creative Writing at Emerson College in 1997. After stints with the City of Santa Clara Parks and Recreation Department and La Strange and Associates, Chris joined the Computer Museum in Boston. After 6 months of giving tours and scheduling events, he came back home to California and joined the staff of the Computer History Museum.

In his spare time, Chris produces digital films, attends science fiction conventions around the world, contributes a regular wrestling column to and volunteers for the Cinequest and Sonoma Valley Film Festivals. He has also been nominated for four Hugo awards for his fanzine, The Drink Tank.
