Director of Human Resources
Therese Aquino Ick joined the Computer History Museum in October 2012, with over 10 years of Human Resources experience, including 7 years as a generalist and 3 years in recruiting. As the Human Resources Manager, Therese reports directly to the CFO and acts as a strategic partner to executive and senior management in employee relations and organizational development. She also handles all human resource functions including recruiting and on-boarding, performance reviews, benefits administration, payroll, and ensuring compliancy with the Department of Labor laws. During her tenure at CHM, Therese has implemented a variety of creative team building events and initiated training and employee wellness programs that helped enhance productivity, employee engagement and the overall CHM experience. Throughout it all, she has leveraged policies, tools and programs amidst rapid growth in the organization, to carry out the company's objectives with a focus on the business's most valuable asset, the people.
Therese is a native of San Francisco and has lived in the Bay Area for most of her life. She graduated from San Francisco State University with a B.S. in Business Administration, concentrating in Accounting. She is also a member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM.) In her spare time, Therese loves to travel with her family, read and watch Bay Area sports teams play their way to championships.
