ITCHP (Information Technology Corporate Histories Project) report by industry sector : semiconductor
The Semiconductor Sector includes companies or divisions of companies that design, develop, manufacture or market semiconductor components for use in their own system products and/or for sale in the merchant market. Such components may include discrete devices (diodes, transistors, etc), integrated circuits (analog, digital logic, microprocessors, memories, DSP, peripheral circuits, networking and communications chips, systems-on-chip, etc), and specialty semiconductors (opto-electronic devices, imagers, solar cells, etc). This sector has been established specifically to capture and present information and stories related to Fairchild Semiconductor in preparation for the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the company in 2007.
