Description

The package documents the submission of a user-written program to IBM for distribution. The program, called ASALT, is a translator for converting source code statements written in Autocoder (an assembly-like language) for the IBM 14xx series computers, into statements compatible with Assembly Language for the (then new) IBM 360 series. This would have been very useful during the early period while IBM was attempting to up-sell its many 14xx customers to the 360 line.

The package comprises --
An IBM submission for describing the program. Note this is form is headed "Type III (IBM Employee)" -- this establishes that Worthington was an employee, not a customer, of IBM.
A 40pp paper documenting the operation of the program.
The program continues with another 40pp of computer printout, a source listing of the program. Worthington has hand-numbered these pages 41-80.
