Description
Ed Leonard, Cisco’s outside counsel for its first decade, describes working with each of the founders and CEOs of the company through John Chambers. This is a good account of Bill Graves, Chuck Sutcliffe, John Morgridge, and John Chambers, plus Don Valentine, Sandy Lerner, and Len Bosack. Many early activities, including the IPO, the succession of CEOs, the customer focus, and the pace of the marketplace are discussed. Specific contributors along the way—Pierre Lamond, Mario Mazzola, Ed Kozel, John Bolger, Don Listwin, for example—are profiled briefly, as are some acquisitions (Kalpana, Crescendo).
