Press release reporting that Microsoft Corporation and Ashton-Tate Corporation announced they began shipping as scheduled, on October 31, 1988, the SQL Server Network Developer's Kit. The kit includes pre-release software, documentation and application programming interface (API) libraries for the Ashton-Tate/Microsoft SQL Server and MS OS/2 LAN Manager, Microsoft's local area networking operating system. The API libraries may be used with Microsoft's C compiler to create applications with MS-DOS, Windows or OS/2 that work with SQL Server over a local area network.
