Description
Paul Donnell is an African-American mainframe computer operator and programmer. He spent most of his career at IBM, where he began in 1965. Born in Chicago and raised on a 40-acre farm south in southwestern Michigan, Donnell graduated from in Western Michigan University in 1956 and began work on an IBM 650 Magnetic Drum Calculator in the Department of Agriculture, gradually increasing in skills until attracted by an ad by IBM. Donnell describes his career there and the type of work he performed.
