Description

Michael Plitkins and Rich Page join Curator Hansen Hsu to discuss several artifacts in the CHM collection, including an Apple Lisa prototype from 1982, and prototype Macintoshes nicknamed the “Great Little Machine” (GLM) and the “Big Mac” that were never shipped to the public. Plitkins donated the Lisa and GLM prototypes to CHM in 2002, and in this video describes the artifacts, gives contextual information about them, and explains their provenance. Rich Page was a hardware engineer at Apple who worked on the Lisa and helped develop the GLM and Big Mac prototypes internally before leaving Apple to co-found NeXT with Steve Jobs. Page tells us stories of his times at Apple and gives details on the development of these prototypes.
