Description

Aaron Marcus is an American artist and user interface analyst and designer. Over a five decade career, he has developed artistic compositions, most notably at Bell Laboratories during one of its most fertile and productive periods; as well undertaken the analysis, interpretation, and design of computer user interfaces, on platforms ranging from mainframes to smartphones. Marcus has brought a humanistic philosophy and approach to the design of systems for conveying knowledge more readily – with less burden to the reader or user -- from the way computer print outs are organized, to novel mobile technology based personal improvement applications. His lifetime of innovation parallels developments in computing at the time, with Marcus part of a small group of innovators combining artistic vision with these exciting new technical systems.
