Description

Object is a slender metal tube. At the top end the tube is broken and bent. At the bottom is a double coil form with several fine wires coming out of the tube and soldered to the form.

This object is part of a collection of superconducting electronics devices called “cryotrons" that were created and used by Dudley Buck at MIT in the 1950s.
