CCI began by offering products that connected video terminals to timesharing computer systems. In the late 1960s, they had systems that would eventually replace the mechanical Teletype and later offered products that provided remote batch entry stations for mainframes and several other products.

One of their claims to fame was that they supplied the computer terminals for the NASA Pioneer space probe team. After the personal computer became more popular, the firm did not manage to keep up with their increased use as access devices and eventually filed for bankruptcy in the late 1980s.
