Heath Company

The Heath Company was well known to hobbyists for supplying electronic kits (“Heathkits”) containing everything one needed to construct stereo, electronic testing, or amateur radio equipment. Some of their equipment was of professional standards and many scientists and engineers would routinely purchase kits for laboratory use.

By the mid-1950s, digital computers were still very complex and costly items, but electrical analog computers were simple enough to be offered in kit (or even completely assembled) form. Heath produced several different versions of their analog computer products and all were well received by both hobbyists and professionals.
